Import and export data

The iDFace is capable of importing and exporting all data inserted into it, except for some configurations, which are:

  • Internal Alarms
  • Relay
  • All items in the settings menu

To export data from the device, go to [MENU] -> [ENROLL] -> [IMPORT/EXPORT].

Export data

To export data from the device, press [EXPORT] on the import/export screen.

The available options are:

  • Users: exports all registered users, including all data, such as faces, cards, and passwords;
  • Backup: exports all data from the device, including access logs. This option should be used as a backup for data on the same device;
  • Synchronization: exports all data from the device, except for access logs. This option should be used to transfer data from one device to another;
  • Access logs: exports all access logs.

After the export process, a .zip file will be created on your USB flash drive.

Import users

To import data into the device, press [IMPORT] on the import/export data screen.

Follow these steps to perform the import:

1) Select "Users" and click [NEXT] to proceed to the next step of the import.

2) Choose how you would like to handle user types. The options are:

  • Keep current: keeps the user types already registered on the device.
  • Utilize from CSV: updates user types according to the imported CSV file.

3) On the next screen, choose how you want to handle conflicts. Conflicts occur when a user with the same name as an already registered user is imported. The options are:

  • Update: information of the already registered user will be replaced by the information of the importing user, but no new registration will be created. In this case, the user retains the same ID.
  • Ignore: the already registered user will be kept and the importing user will not be registered. In this case, no information of the already registered user will be changed.
  • Overwrite: the importing user will be registered, and the already registered user will be removed from the system. In this case, the user will get a new ID. Select the desired option and click [NEXT] to proceed with the import.

4) Finally, choose what to do with the users already registered in the system that were not in the import file. The options are:

  • Keep: the registration of the users will be maintained;
  • Delete: the registration of the users will be irreversibly deleted.

5) Click [IMPORT] and connect a USB flash drive with the import file. Press [OK] to perform the import.
