User enrollment

For the iDFace to identify and authorize a user, they must be enrolled. The enrollment process includes registering a unique user identification code (ID), collecting at least one form of identification, whether it be facial biometrics, proximity card, or password, and associating the user with a department or a schedule.

By default, the user is already associated with the "Standard" department and is not associated with any schedule other than those of the "Standard" department. The operator may choose to associate the user with another department or schedule if desired.

NOTE: If a user is not associated with any department and schedule, they will never be authorized to access the area controlled by the device.

Schedules

It is possible to define specific schedules during which users will be authorized. Therefore, if a user attempts to access an area controlled by the device outside the assigned schedule, access will be denied.

The process of registering schedules essentially involves associating a name with the schedule and adding intervals containing a time slot and the days of the week during which the timetable will be valid.

A schedule can be associated with a department or a user. In the first case, all users belonging to that department are subject to the associated schedule. If a user has a schedule associated with them, the schedules associated with the departments to which the user belongs are ignored, and only the schedules associated with the user are considered by the system.

Departments

Departments are used to group users, making it easier to associate common schedules with a group of users. The process of registering a department involves assigning a name to it and associating it with one or more schedules.

User verification

The iDFace can offer up to 4 forms of identification, although not all forms of identification are present in all models. The 4 forms of identification offered by the most complete model are:

  • Facial biometrics identification: the users identify themselves by positioning in front of the device and having their face recognized.
  • Proximity card identification: the user brings an ASK, Mifare, or HID card, depending on the model purchased, close to the device. The card should be no more than 5cm from the device to be read.
  • Password identification: the user presses the region of the animation on the home screen and enters their identification code and password.
  • PIN identification: the user presses the region of the animation on the home screen and enters their PIN.
  • QR Code identification: the user presents a QR Code (in numeric or alphanumeric format) in front of the device's cameras.

Privilege levels

Each user enrolled on the iDFace has a privilege level. There are 2 possible levels:

  • Common user: a normal system user who can only identify themselves.
  • Administrator: has access to all the device's options.

The iDFace comes from factory without any user enrolled. In this situation, access to the device's Menu is unrestricted until an Administrator-level user is created. Therefore, it is important to register an administrator before starting the device operation; otherwise, all users will have access to all functions of the iDFace.
